Sao Paulo to host “Images from East”

TEHRAN -- A collection of Iranian, Palestinian, and Lebanese movies is to be screened during a weeklong program entitled “Images from East” in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Twenty-seven feature-length movies, short films, animated films, and documentaries will be shown during the program to open on March 12 at Sao Paulo Art and Culture Center.

The event has been organized by Tehran’s Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC) as well as the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in collaboration with the Arab-American Culture Institute.

There are also plans to hold professional meetings, films reviews, and discussions over the three countries’ cultures and the status of their artists.

The Iranian films include “He” directed by Rahbar Qanbari, ”Stone Blossom” by Azizollah Hamidnejad, ”Qana” by Mohammadreza Abbasian, “Noruz” by Jamshid Khoshdel, and “The Hole” by Vahid Nasirian.
